Musee d'art Contemporain de Montreal
One of two works in the collection

Lost River Series no. 17, 1982. Synthetic polymer on canvas, 6 ½ x 7 ½ feet (190.5cm x 221cm). In this painting, as with all the Lost River Series, Mackenzie works without any pre-conceived images, living with her characters--part wolf, part caribou--and painting narrative scenes one on top of the other until an outcome permanently interests her.
